University of New England Medical School

Dr. Fox drove me to the University of New England medical school where I gave a 2 hour talk on my amputation and brain injury to the graduate medical students.  I talked about what happened to me and what my wife at the time did to me.  I mentioned my book and a bunch of those 85 students bought my book.  They seemed more interested in my sons (Camden and Bowdoin) and what happened to them in terms of what Linda did to alienate them against me!!!  They couldn't believe that she told them that I was dead and that she stole my dismemberment check to get her boobs done rather than get me a leg.

The Best

I saw my physiatrist, Dr. Fox, one of my prothesist, John-Paul Donovan and my old therapist, Laura Morgan on Friday. They said it is the best that they have ever seen me walk. That made me feel good but I didn't think that I walk all that well.

Huge Improvements

I am once again in PT but this time at Riverview in Yarmouth and I work with a therapist named Nat. I am making so much progress. I now don't even use a walking stick in therapy anymore! In fact I walk better without any sticking stick or cane! I have Nat to thank for that. I walk now moving my arms and shoulders with a slight twist at the hips; the way normal people walk. I no longer have a dip on my artificial leg side. My gate and flow have improved dramaticlly. Today I walk within an 18 inch barrier without circumducting my artificial leg! I also use my residual limb to help me sit and get up from a chair which gives my real leg a break! Atlantic ProCare and Dr. Fox have seen and love my improvement. Not only that, now I can squat down with both knees and touch the floor and get back up without falling!!!!!!!!
